Earn 3 Graduate Credits for Only $375
for Attending BOTH Days of This Workshop!

For an additional fee, attendees may apply the 11 hours of training earned during the Literacy Retreat toward graduate-level credit from Midwest Teachers Institute (MTI). Graduate credit hours are for non-degree credits which are designed for professional certification renewals and salary step increases. (Check with your district for approval prior to making a commitment.)

Attendance at the Retreat, plus additional coursework related to the Retreat, is required for credit. 

Where are my credits coming from?

MTI has an exclusive agreement with Colorado State University-Pueblo to provide each teacher with an official accredited transcript for completing MTI courses. Colorado State University is fully accredited by CAEP and the Higher Learning Commission. MTI courses through CSU-Pueblo are accepted in all 50 states.

How do I register for the 3 semester hours of graduate credit?

To register for the course and the (3) graduate credits, simply click the register now button below, fill out the registration form, choose the course for Literacy Retreat 2018, and pay the $375 fee for the graduate credits. NOTE: The $375 fee is separate from workshop registration.

Continuing Education Credits

Retreat attendees will receive a certificate of participation at the conclusion of the event and may utilize it to demonstrate participation in 11 hours of professional development (in Indiana, 11 PGPs). Thanks to a partnership with the Regional Office of Education #19, all Illinois teachers attending our June 19-20 session in Chicago are eligible to earn state-approved continuing education credit for 11 hours of training. Smekens Education is an approved subcontractor for ROE #19.
