The Traits/Scoring Examples
Teachers can find numerous writing samples from all grades. Each sample includes scores for each trait and rationale outlining the strengths and weaknesses of the piece.

After selecting your grade-level range (K-5 or 6-8), then look for the key word “Writer’s Showcase.” The anchor papers within this site are sorted by grade-level and by genre. And each set gives you a couple in the middle and a low sample all to the same writing prompt. NOTE: Most convention errors within all the included writing samples have been “fixed.”
Cyberspace/6 Traits/Anchor Papers
Find a series of full-color, K-2 writing samples written in students’ own handwriting. Each anchor includes trait scores based on the primary trait rubric.
