Effective Strategies for Leading
Small-Group Guided Reading

During these two workshops for K-5 teachers, Kristi McCullough shares best-practice instruction for leading small-group guided reading. Whether you attend one day or two, you will leave with loads of strategies and lesson ideas that you can begin using in your own classroom right away.

Top 3 reasons to attend this workshop:

  1. The stakes are high, and the heat is on. Student achievement in reading is as important now as ever. Teachers need the tools and strategies to deliver research-based best-practice methods. The strategies presented in this workshop are practical and classroom-tested.
  2. Using time effectively is essential. In order for small-group guided reading instruction to be effective, time with the teacher has to be carefully planned and purposeful. Learn how to make the most of your small-group time.
  3. Differentiation is challenging, but necessary. Teachers are used to dealing with students who have diverse needs, but knowing how to meet those needs in the area of reading is a priority. Kristi helps you know how to meet students at their instructional level.

Free follow-up training videos:

  • Teachers who attend both days of this Small-Group Reading workshop will be given a complimentary one-month subscription to Kristi's matching videos on webPD, Reading: Creating and Conducting Differentiated Small Groups: Grades K-5 and her suite of videos on Differentiating Small-Group Instruction for Readers (Pre-A/Emergent, Early/Beginning, Transitional, and Fluent).
  • During the complimentary subscription period, teachers are encouraged to share access with every colleague in their school, allowing the entire staff to learn key concepts from the workshop.
