Will the sessions be recorded?

Yes, you can watch all of the recordings for 90 days after Educator Growth Day. With over 20 hours of session videos, you'll be able to continue learning long after the virtual event!
Do I need to pre-register for specific sessions?

Do I need to pre-register for specific sessions?

No, you don't need to pre-register for the sessions that you want to attend. Simply join the session at the scheduled start time.
Will I receive note-taking handouts?

Yes! Each session will include a downloadable note-taking handout.
Will I receive continuing education credit?

Will I receive continuing education credit?

All registrants who participate during Growth Day will be given a certificate recognizing their participation in 5 hours of professional development.

Note: Continuing Education Credit is only received when attendees participate in the June 4 or June 24 Growth Day event.


Illinois-specific credit
Because Smekens Education is located outside of Illinois, and this event is hosted online, we will not be able to award Illinois-specific continuing education credit. However, in most instances, local districts will facilitate the state-approved credit when teachers provide the local coordinator with their certificate of participation.

Can I earn graduate-level credit?

Can I earn graduate-level credit?

For an additional fee, educators who attend the Growth Day are eligible to pursue 1-4 graduate-level university semester credits/units from the University of the Pacific, Center for Professional Development and Continuing Education. Please check with your district to determine course acceptability.

Smekens Education and the University of the Pacific/University College take pride in working together to make available the opportunity for educators like you, to earn graduate-level university semester credits/units. We understand that being an educator takes time, energy, and a lot of dedication, so we feel compelled to make this process affordable, practical, and at the same time rewarding.

For only an additional cost of $62 per credit, we can help you meet your salary advancement and/or recertification requirements. All University of the Pacific courses offered through Smekens Education are graded, graduate-level semester, professional development courses, designed as professional growth for educators.

The University of the Pacific is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and all Smekens Education workshops are graduate-level, professional development courses designed as professional growth for educators. They are intended primarily for the use of salary advancement and recertification. Graduate-level credit requires workshop completion and planning, developing, and reporting on practical activities, strategies, or techniques based on information presented during Educator Growth Day.
