Planning & Facilitating a Close Reading

ON-DEMAND WORKSHOP

Strategies to improve achievement in reading

There has been much talk about raising the complexity of the texts students are reading. However, rigorous reading isn’t just about the text selection. It’s also about targeting multi-faceted, deep thinking during reading.

This online workshop will help teachers plan and facilitate a meaningful close reading in four steps:

    1. Define close reading
    2. Integrate close reading
    3. Plan a close reading
    4. Facilitate a close reading
